ImageMagick and GD are two different opensource approaches on handling graphics. Both ImageMagick and GD can read, convert and write images in a variety of formats.  ImageMagick and GD will run  on all major operating systems and also we can use  the features from programs written in our favorite  programming languages like PHP,Perl,Python etc…
